4. Identity Theft Is No Joke

The episode: Product Recall

The players: Jim and Dwight

The pranks: Jim finds a pair of Dwight glasses for $4 and ends up buying an entire Dwight-ensemble for $11–yellow short-sleeved shirt, calculator watch, bobblehead, hair parted and slicked down. He’s even got Dwight’s speech patterns down cold: “Question. What kind of bear is best?” “False. Black bear…Fact: Bears eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.” Dwight goes from “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” to “identity theft is no joke” in 2 seconds.

This is one of the few (maybe the only) times that Dwight retaliates. At the end of the episode, he comes in with a shoulder bag, hair mussed, no glasses, and wearing a blue shirt. He doesn’t quite commit to being Jim, but does mention having sex with Karen, pulls a face for the camera, and closes with the classic “blah blah a little comment.”
